In celebration of HM Queen Elizabeth II diamond jubilee, lechlade is planning a long weekend of events from 1st to 5th June inclusive.

Current events planned include:

Friday 1st - Sandwiches and seranade at St Lawrence Church

Saturday 2nd - Open Gardens in Lechlade

Sunday 3rd - Sponsored Walk in aid of British Heart Foundation

Monday 4th - The Big Party in the Park.  A traditional country fayre with attractions such as dog show, tug of war, Lechlade's got talent, various music bands, food, bar, stalls and much more

Tuesday 5th - decoration of boats on the river and local street parties * see below

* STREET PARTIES

Please be advised that should anyone be seeking to organise a street party to support the Diamond Jubilee celebrations you will need to seek a formal road closure order from Gloucestershire Highways.

A decision has been taken that any such road closures will be granted free of charge ( the normal fee starts at £75 ) however, this 'offer' is only available for a limited time and all requests need to be with Gloucestershire Highways by 30th April at the latest.

 Organisers will still be responsible for the provision of adequate and legally compliant signage and will also need to consider obtaining public liability insurance.
