Cotswold Canal Trust operates boat trips on the River Thames . The Luxury Edwardian Style Launch MV Inglesham will be available for thirty minute trips which may include a commentary on the Thames and Severn Canal and local river history. These trips will run from Easter. Longer cruises at other times by arrangement for parties,outings etc. Max 12 passengers. Adults £3.00p Children £2.00p (Babies and dogs carried free!)
Friday 21 March 2008 to Sunday 21 September 2008 - Bank and School Holidays, and Weekends, 1100-1700 subject to river, weather conditions and crew availability.

Thursday 1st May 2008 at 19:30 (to Tuesday 18th November 2008 at 19:30) - Noggin and Natter Cotswold Canals Trust
The Cotswold Canals Trust East End Group who operate the MV Inglesham for Public Trips on the river during the summer, meet socially at the Trout Lechlade on the third wednesday of each month. We have guest speakers and / or a general discussions, and a fund raising raffle. Guests are always welcome. Free training on narrow boat handling to obtain an RYA certificate is available. Training courses on rural skills are also available, and volunteers are wanted for restoration work, and maintainance of the Historic Thames and severn Canal.

Monday 16th June 2008 at 19:00 - Lechlade History Society - Visit to Langford
Evening visit to Langford - the Saxon Church and the House and Garden of the late Sir Hardy Amis. On our visit to Buscot Park, we met David Freeman (curator of the Faringdon Collection) who invites us to see the 'Old School', home of this post-war, royal fashion designer who designed and planted the garden. We shall also have a guided tour of the Saxon Church and wine and other refreshments. Maximum 30 tickets will be sold to members @ £5 each at our April and May meetings. "Cogges Manor Farm Museum: 1,000 years of history, and its future". John Wilson is an authority on the many facets of this local museum, now under threat of closure. He will describe how the buildings encapsulate the wealth of local history: agriculture, rural crafts, the village of Cogges and the Witney wool trade.
Lechlade Memorial Hall 7.15pm for 7.30pm. Proceeds this evening go to the Charitable Trusts campaign to secure the Museum's future.

LHS 20th Anniversary Year Invitation Lecture by Tim Porter "The Medieval context for the Priory 'Hospital' of St John the Baptist, Lechlade". This well-known local historian is researching this topic afresh and Tim Porter will throw some new light on an important 'scheduled ancient monument' that has revealed very little previous archaelogocial evidence.
